Ana sayfa / News

A new version has been released for Google Chrome, one of the most used browsers in the world, and some dangerous add-ons have been found. Google Chrome, which did not leave the leadership in the field to anyone, was first offered to download the 105th version. This version, which does not bring any new features for the end user, closes 24 different critical vulnerabilities as reported.

Malicious Google Chrome extensions installed on more than one million devices

Apart from the very important update that needs to be done immediately, another Chrome-focused issue is on the agenda. McAfee security researchers found that “Netflix Party, Netflix Party 2, FlipShope – Price Tracking Extension” Full Page Screenshot Capture – Screenshotting and AutoBuy Flash Sales” plugins prepared for the browser and installed on 1.4 million systems are malicious options.

Publishing the news on its official Chrome blog, Google revealed that external researchers have discovered 24 vulnerabilities. Eight are categorized as carrying a ‘High’ threat level, while one is deemed ‘Critical’.

Some of these add-ons, which are found to record all browser activities of people and send them to developer servers, have already been removed from the add-on market by Google. It was also found that add-ons secretly earn money from users purchases by playing with “cookie” codes (manipulating the Affiliate system).

Malicious extensions list

There are other details for Google Chrome as well. For example, it seems that the 106th version of the browser will bring RSS support for mobile and desktop. Performing beta-based tests on this subject, Google will add a “Follow Site” button to the 106th version if there is no change in the coming period. People who press this button will subscribe to the site’s RSS feed and will be able to follow every content shared by the site in real-time via the browser.

As far as it is said, this system will also work on sites that do not have RSS feeds. Here, the newly entered content will most likely be brought together through the index. This feature, which looks nice in general but will be among the possibilities that most people will not use, can be made more advanced in the future. Google Chrome continues to come up with innovations.
