Night approach test from Bayraktar TB3 to TCG Anadolu

Ana sayfa / News

In a short video shared by Selçuk Bayraktar, the Bayraktar TB-3 UCAV approaches the TCG Anadolu ship at close range, conducting a night approach test. This approach test is significant for the Bayraktar TB-3 as it demonstrates its capabilities for future take-off and landing operations on TCG Anadolu.

Developed by Baykar Teknoloji, the Bayraktar TB-3 boasts far more advanced features compared to the highly successful TB-2 model. In this regard, the ability of the TB-3, a UCAV (Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle), to land on and take off from the TCG Anadolu is strategically important. If the Bayraktar TB-3 successfully completes tests like the night approach, it will soon begin full landing and take-off trials on the TCG Anadolu. This development would allow Turkey to possess a UAV and UCAV ship capable of handling take-offs and landings for unmanned aerial vehicles.

Selçuk Bayraktar shared a short video on the X platform, showing the Bayraktar TB-3 performing a night approach test to the TCG Anadolu ship. The TB-3 is expected to begin landing and take-off tests on the TCG Anadolu shortly.

How Many Bayraktar TB2 Drones Are There in Turkey?

Bayraktar TB2 made a name for itself as one of greatest successes of Turkish defense industry. How many Bayraktar TB2 are there in Turkey?

Recently, Turkey has made significant advancements in UAV and UCAV technology with models like the Bayraktar TB-2 and TAI Anka, which have undertaken crucial missions, particularly in conflicts in Azerbaijan and Ukraine, garnering global attention.

Unlike the TB-2, the Bayraktar TB-3 is a fully capable UCAV. This model has significantly higher speed, longer endurance in the air, and advanced air-to-air ammunition capabilities, making it highly versatile.

The TB-3’s ability to take off and land on short runways means it could operate from the TCG Anadolu. If it successfully completes landing and take-off trials on the TCG Anadolu, it would mark the TCG Anadolu as the first LHD ship capable of UCAV operations.
