You may remember the Skyline emulator for Android platforms that allowed you to play Nintendo Switch games. Skyline gained significant popularity worldwide, as many users were able to play Nintendo Switch games without paying any fees. However, don’t worry. Even though Skyline is gone, an official Nintendo Switch emulator has been released for Android devices. Here are the details…
Introducing the official Nintendo Switch emulator: Yuzu!
Thanks to the Skyline emulator, many users were able to play Nintendo Switch games without having to buy the console. Initially, Nintendo remained silent about this situation but eventually noticed the extent of Skyline’s popularity. Skyline had gained serious popularity, and this was deemed unfair.
Nintendo took immediate action following this surge. They sent various emails and notices to the Skyline developers, warning them. Unable to withstand this pressure, the Skyline team removed the application from the Nintendo Switch framework and discontinued its emulator functionality.
But now we have Yuzu. The Yuzu developers have stated that the official Nintendo Switch emulator can be found on Google Play. In other words, it is legal and secure. This means that you can play all console-exclusive games on your phone or tablet without purchasing a Nintendo Switch.
Yuzu is currently in beta stage, so it may not work stably on all devices. The developers recommend a minimum of 8 GB RAM and Snapdragon 865 or better to use the application optimally. Additionally, you need to have at least Android 11.
Yuzu is currently available in early access and full version. The early access version is priced at $4.99 because it allows you to participate in beta testing and receive the initial updates. The regular version is free. After installing the emulator, you can play your own games by adding their keys within the emulator. This means that you still need to purchase the games because Yuzu was released as an official emulator.
Looking at the initial game tests, the team shared performance data based on testing their own games. Games like Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury are fully playable on devices like the Samsung Galaxy S23. In short, the emulator works perfectly on “compatible devices“. So, what are your thoughts on the new Nintendo Switch emulator, Yuzu? Don’t forget to share your opinions in the comments section.
