Nissan is ending the road for its beloved vehicles. Today, as part of an announcement about electric cars, Nissan has decided to cease production of its popular models, Altima and Versa. Production of Altima and Versa will discontinue starting from 2025.

Nissan shifts towards electric cars!

Nissan appears to be discontinuing the production of Altima and Versa, which it has been producing for years. With electric cars dominating the market, Nissan is making a new move, just like other companies, and aims to be associated with electric vehicles in the future. The company, which declared its prioritization of electric vehicles in recent years, now states that it aims to produce more practical, enjoyable, and safe sedan cars.

Nissan is reportedly pulling the plug on its best-selling model, the Altima. Although the Altima made its debut in the automobile market back in 1992 and remains one of Nissan’s best-selling vehicles, it will most likely cease production after 2025. In fact, the Versa, which has been in production since 2006, is expected to share the same fate as the Altima.

Nissan has expressed its intention to focus on producing electric models, and it appears that they will continue with the Maxima in the sedan segment. Although the Maxima has lagged behind the Altima and Versa in total sales figures, it will likely become Nissan’s face for fully electric sedans, possibly due to its positioning within the segment.

It’s important to note that the decision to discontinue the Altima and Versa is currently based on leaks and rumors. Nissan has not issued an official statement regarding this matter. Moreover, considering that Versa’s sales in 2023 increased by 95.8% compared to the previous year, the decision-making process for compant might take some time. However, given the credibility of the leaks from reliable sources, it does seem likely that the Altima and Versa might reach the end of the road.

What are your thoughts on this matter? How do you believe the discontinuation of the Versa and Altima models might impact Nissan? Feel free to share your opinions in the comments.
