Similarly, the budget-friendly CMF Phone 1 is among the names saying goodbye to major operating system updates. Experts suggest that users who wish to stay current with Android 17’s seamless multitasking, advanced privacy settings, and AI integrations should consider upgrading to the new Phone (4a) series or the high-performance Phone (3).

Following the release of the stable Android 17 build for Pixel devices in June 2026, Nothing is expected to complete its optimizations and roll out Nothing OS 5.0 gradually to end-users in the fourth quarter of 2026.
