Nothing announced that it will release two new audio products on April 18th. The company known for its transparent designs stated that it will introduce the Nothing Ear and Nothing Ear (a) models in the coming week. So, what do we expect from these headphones?
Nothing Ear models to be unveiled on April 18th
Nothing first unveiled the Ear 1 in 2021 and then the Ear 2 last year. The company now stated that it is working on the new models, by adopting a new naming convention. While Ear is expected to offer a premium experience, Ear (a) will cater to daily use.
The company has reset its naming scheme with the new products and moved away from the previous numerical naming. In the shared announcement, it was stated, “Our devices will be made to last, so we recommend determining what matters to you in a sound product. There’s no upgrade based on naming.”
Nothing also mentioned in its announcement that the product will feature a ceramic driver for clearer sound and bass frequencies. Additionally, Ear (a) will increase the active noise cancellation support from 40dB to 45dB compared to the previous model.
The company also announced that it has sold over 3 million devices in a short period of three years. It’s worth noting that this figure includes both headphones and smartphones. A few months ago, it successfully disrupted the mid-range smartphone market with the Phone 2a model.
The Ear (2) offers up to 4 hours of usage with ANC enabled and up to 6 hours and 18 minutes with ANC disabled. Additionally, the headphones feature Bluetooth 5.3 and BLE support for stable connectivity.
