In addition, the brand, which has several different methods of understanding liquid contact, has introduced a different feature in its new Mac series. This feature, which comes with macOS Sonoma 14.1, is a background application called “liquiddetectiond” that sends a notification to Apple if there is liquid contact in the USB-C ports of the new Mac series. This application constantly runs in the background and if liquid contact is detected, it creates a record and sends it to Apple with the serial number of the device.
When the device in question comes to the technical service, Apple examines these records and sees whether there is any liquid contact.
