The countdown has begun for Nubia’s new flagship phone, the Z80 Ultra. Expected to be unveiled at the end of the year, leaked information suggests the device will offer a remarkable experience with its powerful hardware and innovative design.
Full-Screen Experience and Next-Gen Processor
The Nubia Z80 Ultra, similar to its predecessor the Z70 Ultra, will feature an under-display front camera. This technology will provide a full-screen experience without a notch or a punch-hole. The device’s display is expected to come with a 1.5K resolution and a high refresh rate, likely 144 Hz.
The phone’s main power source will be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset. This processor, scheduled to be announced in September 2025, scored an impressive 3.8 million on AnTuTu benchmarks, surpassing the Z70 Ultra’s score of 2.5 million by over 50%. This indicates that the device will offer top-tier performance for gaming and demanding applications.
On the camera front, the Z80 Ultra will feature at least two 50-megapixel sensors on the back. One is expected to be the main camera, and the other a periscope telephoto lens. Although detailed specifications have not yet been shared, this setup is anticipated to be very competitive in photography.
The battery capacity is also seeing a significant increase. The Z70 Ultra’s 6,150 mAh battery will be upgraded to a capacity of over 7,100 mAh in the Z80 Ultra. It is claimed that this massive battery can last for a couple of days even with heavy use, providing a major advantage for mobile gamers.
While there has been no official statement from Nubia yet, if the brand sticks to its previous launch schedule, the Z80 Ultra is expected to hit the market in November 2025.
