Intel has recently entered the graphics card world with its Arc series models. Recent reports indicate that Nvidia wants to enter the computer processor market in response to Intel. Working on an Arm-based chip, Nvidia is rumored to be conducting Windows tests.
Nvidia may be developing an Arm-based CPU
Nvidia is allegedly developing a chip that will shake the computer world. The hardware giant is allegedly working on Arm-based Windows processors that could be released as early as 2025. With this move, it wants to grab Intel’s market share
According to Reuters, Nvidia is developing CPU designs that will be compatible with the Windows system. It is stated that it uses Arm technology for this. In this way, Nvidia will be able to compete with companies producing Windows processors such as Intel, AMD and Qualcomm.
We know that Nvidia has long been a leader in the graphics card market for both PCs and data centers. But its entry into the CPU market represents a major expansion beyond its graphics operations.
On the other hand, the report suggests that Nvidia will not be alone in developing Arm-based Windows chips. AMD is also reportedly looking to develop Arm-based processors by 2025. The company is currently using its own Zen architecture.
This move from both companies follows an agreement that gives Qualcomm the right to produce Arm-based chips for Windows until 2024. With the agreement ending in 2024, it seems that Nvidia and AMD want to switch to Arm base.
