Although Nvidia has not yet officially announced the entry-level graphics cards of the RTX 50 series, recent leaks have revealed the specifications of the RTX 5050, 5060 and 5060 Ti models. While the company is expected to unveil its new RTX 50 series cards in the next 10 days, leaked technical details show that there will be no major innovation, especially for gamers.
Nvidia’s entry-level graphics cards will not meet expectations
According to the leaks, RTX 5060 and RTX 5060 Ti will use the GB206-300 GPU chip, while the RTX 5050 model will be built on the GB207-300 chip. RTX 5060 Ti, which is expected to be the most powerful card in the 60 class of the RTX 50 series, comes with 4,608 CUDA cores. However, this figure represents only a 5.7% increase compared to its predecessor RTX 4060 Ti.

On the memory side, RTX 5060 Ti will offer 8GB and 16GB GDDR7 memory options. Both models will operate with a 128-bit memory bus and have a TDP of 180W. The 16GB model is expected to be released at the end of March, while the 8GB version is expected to hit the shelves in April with the RTX 5060.
The RTX 5060 model comes with 3,840 CUDA cores and offers a 22.22% increase compared to the previous generation RTX 4060. Equipped with 128-bit GDDR7 memory, the card can be a suitable option for compact systems by offering lower power consumption with 150W TDP value.
RTX 5050, the entry-level model of the series, symbolises the return of the 50 series after RTX 3050. However, this card will have GDDR6 memory instead of GDDR7 used in RTX 5060 and 5060 Ti models. Equipped with 2,560 CUDA cores, the GPU will operate with a TDP of 130W. It is evaluated that the RTX 5050 may be significantly behind the higher models in terms of performance.
It remains unclear to what extent Nvidia’s new budget-friendly graphics cards will meet the expectations of gamers. When the new models of the RTX 50 series are officially announced, performance tests and user feedback will reveal whether these graphics cards are really competitive.
