The Oceanic+ app for Apple Watch Ultra is now available. The app turns the watch into a dive computer. The Watch Ultra is the best smartwatch model Apple has ever produced when it comes to going underwater. Designed by Huish Outdoors in collaboration with Apple, the app serves as a dive computer for recreational scuba diving at depths up to 40 meters/130 feet.

The Oceanic+ app is easy to use

Apple itself said the following about the application designed specifically for this smartwatch: “The Oceanic+ app, available today for Apple Watch Ultra, turns Apple’s most durable watch into a highly capable and easy-to-use dive computer. Designed in collaboration with Huish Outdoors and Apple, Oceanic+ allows recreational underwater divers to take the watch they wear every day to depths never before reached. Featuring an all-new depth indicator and water temperature sensors, Apple Watch Ultra can descend to a depth of exactly 40 meters. ”

“At Huish Outdoors, we aim to ignite people’s adventurous spirit,” said Mike Huish, CEO of Huish Outdoors: “Oceanic+ on Apple Watch Ultra represents one of the biggest innovations the diving industry has seen in a very long time. “We’re creating an accessible, shareable, and better diving experience for everyone.”

Mike Huish also says the following: “One of our main goals was the simplicity of use. People who know how to use Apple Watch, know how to use this dive computer as well. Because our app tells the user everything in a simple and easy-to-understand way. With simple navigation menus, you can see and use all the dive computer’s functions while diving by swiping with the Digital Crown and using the Action button.”

Apple also says the following about the Oceanic+ app: “With the dive planner, users can set values such as surface time, depth, and gas volume. Oceanic+ can then calculate the Zero Decompression time measure, which is used to limit the amount of time a diver spends at a given depth. The planner also integrates up-to-date information from the community on diving conditions such as tides and water temperature, as well as visibility and currents.
