Microsoft introduced the Xbox One model on May 21, 2013, and it has been a part of our lives for a long time. After a decade in the market, Microsoft released several different models of Xbox. Now, with the release of new models, the long-awaited bad news for Xbox One has also arrived.

The end of the road for Xbox One

Most recently, in 2020, Microsoft launched the Xbox Series X/S models and announced the bad news for Xbox One. The company stated that they will no longer produce new games for the eighth-generation game console. Xbox One users are quite saddened by this long-awaited decision.

In his interview, Matt Booty, the president of Xbox Game Studios, announced that the company has transitioned to the ninth generation and none of Xbox’s 23 game studios, including Turn 10 Studios and Double Fine Productions, are working on games compatible with Xbox One. However, Booty mentioned that support for games like Minecraft will continue.

No one should be without an SSD: It’s becoming mandatory now!

The era of mandatory SSDs for computer games is officially beginning. According to recent news, most games will no longer run on HDDs.

Booty also mentioned that despite the absence of new first-party games for Xbox One, access to new first-party games like Starfield on the console will continue through Xbox Cloud Gaming. With this, Microsoft will fulfill the promise made for Xbox One last year.

This announcement by Microsoft came right after the Games Showcase event for Xbox. In this event, the tech giant shared updates on first-party developments as well as innovations presented by some third-party developers.

After more than a decade in our lives, Xbox One is unfortunately bidding farewell to new games. However, as the company previously stated, support for some games will continue. What are your thoughts on the end of Xbox One? Feel free to share your opinions in the comments section.
