It has been known for some time that Apple wants to make significant changes to the iPad Pro. In addition to the OLED display and M3 processor, it is now claimed that storage will increase. A new rumor has revealed that Apple may offer up to 4TB storage for the first OLED iPad Pro models to be introduced in 2024.
4TB rumors for the 2024 OLED iPad Pro
New information from sources close to Apple’s supply chain claims that the company will increase the maximum storage capacity of iPad Pros. Currently offering up to 2TB of storage, iPad Pros will double this option to 4TB.
The company first introduced the 2TB storage option with the 5th generation iPad Pro in 2021. The current 6th-generation models also offer 2TB of storage and support ProRes video recording up to 4K.
The move to OLED displays and the addition of advanced ProRes video recording capabilities could lead to increased storage demands from professional users. The 4TB configuration should provide enough space for large files.
Apple is also likely to double the minimum storage option, meaning the iPad Pro in 2024 could have 256GB of base storage instead of 128GB. RAM will also reportedly increase, reaching 24GB and even 32GB configurations.
However, Apple has been busy with the iPhone and Apple Watch lately. The company is preparing for the ‘Wonderlust’ event on September 12, where the iPhone 15 and Watch Series 9 will be introduced.
