One UI 8 brings fresh upgrades

Ana sayfa / News

Samsung is rolling out One UI 8 soon, and while it doesn’t reshape the interface like its predecessor, the update carries meaningful improvements. From multitasking tricks to a stronger Secure Folder, One UI 8 brings practical changes that users will feel in daily use.

Long‑time DeX fans were surprised when Samsung removed some of its custom features. At first glance, it looked like a downgrade. But One UI 8 actually shifts DeX onto Android’s own Desktop Mode introduced in Android 16.

That change means app developers no longer have to fine‑tune their software just for DeX. Apps should behave more consistently across the board. Plus, as Google continues refining Desktop Mode, DeX will automatically benefit from those updates without Samsung needing to rework everything.

Samsung One UI 8 beta opens for more Galaxy devices

Samsung expands One UI 8 beta to more Galaxy devices, including S24, Z Fold 6, and mid‑range A‑series, ahead of September stable release.

Quick Share now feels more like a dedicated app than a background tool. Its refreshed full‑screen interface makes the difference between sending and receiving files obvious.

Instead of starting transfers through Gallery or My Files, users can jump straight into Quick Share from the Quick Panel toggle. The Send tab lets you pick what to share, while the Receive tab instantly gets the phone ready to accept incoming files. It’s clearer, faster, and far less confusing than before.

Samsung has long championed multitasking, but OnePlus shook things up with Android 16’s split‑screen approach. One UI 8 now brings that same flexibility.

You can run two apps side by side with adjustable ratios. That means giving one app nearly the whole screen while keeping another in a small floating view. Tapping the smaller window instantly switches focus. It’s a smoother way to juggle tasks, especially on foldables and large‑screen devices.

One UI 8 takes Secure Folder more seriously by rebuilding it on Android 15’s Private Space foundation. Earlier flaws that exposed apps and files are now closed. Fingerprint verification has its own dedicated setup, making access safer. Sharing files with apps inside Secure Folder has also been streamlined, cutting down on the clunky steps users had to deal with before.

Here are five standout features in the update:

One UI 8 isn’t chasing a flashy redesign. Instead, Samsung focused on refining how people share, multitask, and protect their data. It’s about smoother performance and smarter use of features you rely on every day. This time, the update doesn’t shout; it sharpens.
