One UI 8 is facing a strange issue

Ana sayfa / News

Samsung’s foldable smartphones have experienced a significant touchscreen issue after receiving the Android 16-based One UI 8 update. Some Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 users who installed the update are reporting that the center of their devices’ home screens are unresponsive to touch.

This issue significantly hinders the use of certain apps or features and creates a significant user experience issue.

According to emerging information, this touchscreen responsiveness issue occurs under certain conditions. The issue is typically reported to occur when the phone’s screen size is maximized and the “Show multi-window menu in a single window” feature is enabled at the same time. When both settings are enabled, the center of the foldable display does not function properly.

There is a simple way to temporarily resolve this touchscreen responsiveness issue. Users report that disabling the “Show multi-window menu in a single window” option in the settings restores normal functionality.

This workaround allows users to continue using their devices without any issues. Samsung is reportedly working on a software update that will permanently fix this issue and will release it soon.

Users are eagerly awaiting the official update that will fix this critical bug. The fact that even a major manufacturer encounters such issues after a major operating system update on complex hardware like a foldable phone demonstrates once again the critical importance of software testing processes.
