One UI 8 will increase user privacy with this feature!

Ana sayfa / News

Samsung is making a significant change to the Gallery application with its new Android 16-based interface, One UI 8. With this update, users will be able to collect their private photos and videos in the new “Secret Album” section. The feature was revealed shortly before the beta version of One UI 8 was released.

Secret Album aims to store content that the phone owner does not want to be viewed in a more practical way. This new section offers the operations that users previously performed with systems such as Secure Folder with a simpler and more direct interface.

Secure Folder was a system that worked separately from the stock Gallery application and created a second gallery structure in the device’s storage. Secret Album will eliminate this complexity and will be integrated directly into the Gallery application.

Thanks to the new feature, users will have easier privacy control by moving the content they select to a different area than standard albums. However, it is not yet clear what kind of security infrastructure protects this area.

Samsung is expected to start the One UI 8 beta process at the end of May. It will soon be clear which devices in the Galaxy series will receive the update. The company aims to simplify the user experience and increase data security on the device with the new system.
