Until a few years ago, OnePlus was known for its price/performance smartphones. This time, the company chose to stand out in terms of design. The device it introduced for sale as the Jupiter Rock Edition uses 3D microcrystalline rock, which has no equivalent in the smartphone industry, on its back cover.
To be able to process this substance with a special texture, it goes through 9 different production steps. However, the efficiency of the process is at 25%, which also increases the cost. Nevertheless, it manages to give the smartphone a unique feel and texture. As an example of similarity, we can say that when you touch the device, you will feel a marble-like cold surface.
The new model, like other members of the series, is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. The chip, produced with 4 nm technology, includes 1 ARM Cortex-X3 at 3.19 GHz, 2 ARM Cortex-A715 at 2.8 GHz, 2 ARM Cortex-A710 at 2.8 GHz, and 3 ARM Cortex-A510 at 2.0 GHz cores. Additionally, there is an Adreno 740 graphics interface that supports Ray Tracing technology.
On the front, there is a 16-megapixel selfie camera positioned in a hole shape. On the back, there is a triple camera setup that includes a 50-megapixel Sony IMX890 main camera with OIS support, a 48-megapixel Sony IMX581, and a 32-megapixel Sony IMX709 RGBW auxiliary sensor with a 2x telephoto lens.
The device has 12/16 GB LPDDR5x RAM and 256/512 GB UFS 4.0 internal storage options. In addition, it has a VC liquid cooling system that will keep heating to a minimum during gaming. Finally, let’s say that it has a 5,000 mAh battery with 100W fast charging support and comes with technologies such as dual SIM, 5G, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, GNSS, NFC, and USB Type-C.
