OnePlus’s new flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 15, has achieved a historic success in battery performance benchmarks. The device’s results in the PCMark Android Work 3.0 battery test have been officially announced. The OnePlus 15 achieved a score never before achieved by any phone in this test, becoming the first smartphone to break the 24-hour barrier.
OnePlus 15 breaks battery record
According to the published results, the OnePlus 15 lasted a full 1,576 minutes in the PCMark 3.0 test. This equates to approximately 26.2 hours. This record allowed the device to significantly outshine its competitors. The RedMagic 8 Pro, which had long dominated the list, fell to second place with a score of 1,262 minutes, while the OnePlus 15 surpassed it by a whopping 314 minutes.
The OnePlus 15 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor and a 7,300mAh silicon-carbon battery. This high-capacity battery consists of two 3,650mAh silicon-carbon cells.
Tests were conducted in a scenario where the screen remained on constantly and the device continuously switched between workloads. The device’s performance exceeding 24 hours clearly demonstrated both the silicon-carbon battery chemistry used and the superior power efficiency of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor.
The test times of other key devices in the flagship segment demonstrate the magnitude of the OnePlus 15’s success. The RedMagic 8 Pro achieved scores of 1,262 minutes, the Moto Edge+ 2023 1,260 minutes, and the OnePlus 12 1,227 minutes.
On the other hand, popular models like the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold, Pixel 9a, or Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra showed values between 900 and 1,000 minutes. The company has not only increased battery capacity, but also delivered an extremely stable and low consumption curve throughout the test thanks to software optimizations and the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5’s advanced power management.
