OnePlus has accelerated its work on its first foldable smartphone Open. Recent leaks showed that the foldable device will feature a triple camera setup on the outer cover and will have a striking display. At an event in the US, a OnePlus executive spoke about the device, confirming the claims.
OnePlus said Open will be released “very soon”
The Chinese company has confirmed that its first foldable smartphone, dubbed OnePlus Open, will be launched “very soon”. While no exact date has been given, recent reports claim that the foldable device will be unveiled on October 19.
Speaking at an event in the US, the company executive claimed that the OnePlus Open will “combine compact foldable design with flagship-level experience.” Other details will be announced soon on OnePlus’ social media platforms.
Rumors so far suggest that the OnePlus Open will be almost identical in design to the yet-to-be-released Oppo Find N3. Both phones are expected to feature similar foldable OLED displays and hinge mechanisms. The main difference is that the OnePlus model will come with OxygenOS software.
Open’s technical specifications also draw attention. The device will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, with up to 16 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. 4500 mAh battery with fast charging support.
