According to rumours, OPPO is preparing to launch the Find X8 Mini, a compact device aimed at the Chinese market. According to Digital Chat Station, OnePlus is planning to take a similar approach.
In previous reports, some sources thought that because OnePlus and OPPO are sister companies, their sales could undermine each other. Digital Chat Station suggests that there will be no such problem as there will be a big difference between OPPO and OnePlus phones, and OnePlus is also focused on developing a compact device.
OnePlus model with compact design will stand out with its high performance
OnePlus’ new compact phone will allegedly feature a 6.31-inch flat OLED display with 1.5K resolution and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. Despite its small size, the device will compete among high-end phones with its high performance.
Some sources suggest that the device in question will belong to the ‘Ace’ series. For now, uncertainty remains on this issue. However, it is known that the company will launch the OnePlus Ace 5 and Ace 5 Pro models in December, which will be equipped with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and Snapdragon 8 Elite chips respectively. Therefore, it is emphasised that the expected model may be ‘Ace 5 Pro’.
When asked on social media whether the new OnePlus device will affect the sales of the Find X8 Mini, Digital Chat Station explains that there will be no conflict between the devices as there will be different chipsets.
If the OnePlus model comes equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, the Find X8 Mini could carry MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400 chipset, just like the OPPO Find X8 and OPPO Find X8 Pro. In this way, both OPPO and OnePlus plan to satisfy their users with high-performance chips.
The compact OnePlus model is expected to be official in the second quarter of 2025, while the Find X8 Mini is expected to be released in the first quarter of next year with the Find X8 Ultra.
