New information has emerged for the foldable Open series developed by OnePlus and OPPO. The two companies have reportedly started working on the second generation of the foldable model. Details from China revealed that OnePlus Open 2 will have the largest battery in foldable devices.
OnePlus Open 2 comes with the biggest battery ever
Chinese leaks have revealed that the OnePlus Open 2 is in development and will be powered by a 6000mAh battery. This represents a big increase compared to last year’s Open, which launched with a 4805mAh battery.
It actually makes sense to put a larger capacity battery in foldable phones. But it’s not an easy task given space constraints. OnePlus is working on new battery technologies such as the ‘Glacier Battery’, which uses silicon-based anodes for higher energy density.
The OnePlus Open 2 is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset. It will probably be released as a rebranded version of OPPO’s next foldable device. In this context, it will continue the cooperation between brands in the global market.
Open, which will come with a 7.8-inch interior display, will offer 120Hz refresh rate and 2800 nits peak brightness value on this 2K AMOLED screen. OnePlus Open, which also has a 6.31-inch AMOLED display on the outside, promises many years of trouble-free use with a 400 thousand folding warranty.
