Following the popular Mokka and Grandland models, Opel has now updated its powerful representative in the compact class. The facelifted Opel Astra stands out with both its modern design touches and improvements in its technical infrastructure. Preparing to take the stage at the Brussels Motor Show, the model will be offered in sedan and Sports Tourer body options.

The first detail that catches the eye in the updated model is the significant change in the vehicle’s front end. Opel engineers have raised the bar in lighting technology by switching to the Intelli-Lux HD LED headlight system. Composed of a total of 50,000 different light cells, this system promises superior visibility during night driving.

The designers have added a modern touch by placing the illuminated brand logo on both the front and rear of the vehicle. This new design language carries traces of the brand’s sporty concept, the Corsa GSe Vision Gran Turismo. In addition, the exterior design includes new 17 and 18-inch wheel options, as well as white and green color alternatives. The black roof option adds a two-tone and dynamic look to the vehicle.
Stepping inside the vehicle, we are greeted by comfort-focused updates. AGR-certified seats, designed with driver and passenger health in mind, are now standard from the most basic trim level. These seats aim to reduce fatigue during long journeys. Heating, lumbar support, and massage functions can also be added as options.
In line with sustainability goals, fully recycled materials have been used in the interior upholstery. Furthermore, the infotainment system has been revamped with a faster, clearer, and more user-friendly interface.
On the technical side, the battery capacity and efficiency of the electric version have been increased. Thanks to the 58 kWh battery pack, the vehicle can travel 35 km further than its predecessor. Thus, the total range reaches 454 kilometers. Additionally, thanks to the newly added V2L (vehicle-to-load) feature, the vehicle’s power can be used to operate electronic devices outside of its power source. Hybrid and gasoline engine options are also expected to remain in the updated version.
