OpenAI quietly destroyed its unreliable tool!

Ana sayfa / AI

For the past few months, OpenAI has been making headlines with its text generation powered by artificial intelligence. The company took a step in identifying text passages written by AI by releasing a tool months ago. However, the results that emerged were far from satisfactory. Here are the details!

OpenAI found little confidence in its text tool!

OpenAI has managed to stay in the spotlight with its chatbot, ChatGPT, which proved to be a great asset for users needing to prepare text for school or work. In February, OpenAI developed a tool to detect text written by ChatGPT.

The tool was designed to determine whether a text snippet was prepared by humans or by an artificial intelligence system. However, according to the news that emerged today, it turns out that the tool didn’t do its job as expected. OpenAI removed the AI-powered tool due to its “low accuracy rate” in identifying English texts.

Google, Microsoft and OpenAI join forces for AI

Google, Microsoft, OpenAI and Anistropic have formed a joint working group for artificial intelligence. Here is the Frontier Model Forum.

Previously, users could freely try and submit text to OpenAI’s classifier tool. But now, when they click on the link, they are met with a page removal notification. The company has provided an explanation on its webpage for the tool. The statement reads:

“As of July 20, 2023, the AI classifier is no longer available due to its low accuracy rate. We are working to incorporate feedback and are currently researching more effective techniques for text and developing and deploying mechanisms that allow users to determine whether audio or visual content is generated by AI.”

The company towing its own vehicle highlights the difficulties in classification amid the rapid increase in the use of productive artificial intelligence. As a result, we observe OpenAI quietly removing its vehicle.

So, what do you think about OpenAI’s text tool? Do you believe it is possible to determine whether a text is written by artificial intelligence or not? Don’t forget to share your opinions with us in the comments section!
