OpenAI continues to distribute the 12 days of Christmas gifts that we previously reported. Accordingly, the company announced that its fourth gift, the Canvas feature, is now available for all ChatGPT users. The feature is available for both free and premium users starting today. So, what is this Canvas and what does it do? Details are in our news…
OpenAI Canvas: ChatGPT is available for free in web and desktop applications
In a nutshell, Canvas goes beyond the standard chat experience and offers a more professional platform for writing and code projects. The new tool integrates directly with GPT-4 and works seamlessly without users having to choose a separate model. In Canvas, Python code can be run directly, and ChatGPT can offer bug fixes and optimization suggestions on the fly.
In addition, an advanced copy-and-paste feature makes it possible to easily move content into the Canvas environment. For example, when you paste a piece of text or code into ChatGPT, the system automatically gives you the option to open it in Canvas. The feature also includes a “Show Changes” function that allows users to work with customized GPT models and track changes in detail.
This feature allows transparent viewing of all changes made to both text and code projects. The feature is currently available to web users via chatgpt.com and for the Windows desktop application. OpenAI also announced that it will invest more in the development of Canvas and will continue to add new features in the coming period.
