Outlook Email Issues Persist as Microsoft Deploys Fix

Ongoing Outlook email issues are affecting mobile users once again, but Microsoft has started rolling out a fix to restore normal sync behavior.

A recent update triggered unexpected problems for users who access mail through Hybrid Modern Authentication (HMA). According to Microsoft, the system began placing sync jobs in quarantine following routine errors, causing 12-hour delays for incoming and outgoing mail.

Some users reported that mailboxes failed entirely, crashing the Outlook mobile app and cutting access to email and calendar data.

Engineers attempted to reduce the delay interval to one hour, but the change didn’t work. Now, a broader fix has been deployed to stop mail syncs from entering quarantine altogether. The issue is tracked under ID EX1137017 in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center.

The Outlook problems are part of a broader series of disruptions across Microsoft’s ecosystem. Teams desktop users have also reported blank screens and app freezes during meetings. This issue appears tied to Intel driver version 32.0.101.69xx and is listed under TM1134507.

For now, Microsoft suggests using the Teams web app as a workaround.
