The stable version of OxygenOS 16 has arrived for the OnePlus Nord 5. Starting in India, this Android 16-based update will reach more regions soon.
The software version is CPH2717_16.0.1.300(EX01), and it weighs around 3.47GB. Those in the beta program already have it, while the rest will see a staggered OTA rollout in the coming days.
OxygenOS 16 update boosts personalization
The home screen now feels sharper and cleaner. With the new Flux design, icons carry more depth, and animations flow naturally between actions.
App shortcuts can now be resized, motion wallpapers bring scenes to life, and the home screen sheds text clutter. Large folders get layout choices like 9-grid and 4-grid options.
AI takes center stage in OxygenOS 16
OnePlus packed the update with generative AI tools aimed at everyday tasks. Users get:
- AI Writer for social posts, summaries, speeches
- AI VoiceScribe with automatic call summaries
- AI Doc Scanner baked into the camera
- AI Recorder with smart titles
- Smart search powered by AI in Settings
You can also generate tables, mind maps, and content drafts instantly.
System upgrades without the bloat
The Trinity Engine manages workloads more efficiently, helping games and video apps stay smooth even under stress. Album loading speeds are faster, and power use drops across photo-heavy tasks.
File sharing is easier, too. The “Touch to share” feature lets you move files between apps without breaking flow.
Cross-device sync arrives for Nord 5
With the OxygenOS 16 update, the Nord 5 can now mirror to a PC. You can unlock, share files, or copy and paste between devices. OnePlus Connect adds search tools that look across both systems.
New “My Devices” widgets let you manage everything from the home screen. It’s one spot for phones, buds, tablets, or whatever else is linked.
OxygenOS 16 sets the stage for AI-first midrange phones
The OnePlus Nord 5 just got smarter. With OxygenOS 16, this mid-tier device steps into the AI spotlight, armed with fresh visuals, smoother multitasking, and the ability to blur the line between phone and desktop.
And this is just the beginning.
