Palworld, released to the market in the past weeks, was met with great interest. So much so that the game quickly made its way to the top of the charts with an impressive performance. However, recent developments have shown that the game has completely “fizzled out.” In fact, the number of Palworld players has dropped significantly.
Palworld player count drops by 83 percent
For those unaware, Palworld is fundamentally a survival game. Inspired by Pokémon, the game requires you to train creatures called “Pals.” In addition to tasks like building structures, farming, and making fires, you can also arm them to use against other players.
According to data shared by SteamDB.info, the number of players of Palworld has dropped by 83 percent. Currently, the game, which only a few hundred thousand people are playing, had even surpassed Counter-Strike 2 to claim the top spot.
On the other hand, Palworld is also combating cheaters. In an official statement made by the developer company’s executives, it was stated that heavy penalties would be imposed on players attempting to cheat. The executives, emphasizing that they prioritize this issue, stated that with the new update to be released in February, they will implement a security system that can detect cheaters more quickly. The statement also mentioned that players affected by cheating would be considered.
