AI technologies are planned to be used extensively at the Paris Olympics this year. Google and NBCUniversal will use AI models to enhance the viewer experience at the Olympic and Paralympic Games. The Paris Olympics AI will be used to provide viewers with a richer and more informative viewing experience.

Google will use Gemini AI models for the Olympic and Paralympic Games as part of an agreement with NBCUniversal and Team USA. Through this agreement, NBC commentators will use Google Search’s AI Summaries feature to share quick and detailed information about various sports, athletes and Olympic rules. In particular, NBC’s lead superfan commentator Leslie Jones will use Google’s Gemini AI to analyze the games on the fly and provide viewers with more information.

NBC believes that AI will make the Olympics more accessible and understandable to viewers. AI Highlights will also be available on NBC’s social media channels. In this way, viewers will be able to learn about the topics they are curious about with a single search. Google hopes that these features will significantly improve the experience of Olympic viewers.

Google’s AI plans will complement the AI tools that Intel and Samsung are offering for athletes. Intel has developed an AI chatbot that will guide athletes in the Olympic village. In addition, Intel and Samsung are building an AI-powered identification tool that will identify and tag athletes on the field. Intel’s own broadcast initiative will also use AI to produce highlights for each event.

At the Paris Olympics, Google aims to use AI technologies to enrich and expand the viewer experience. What do you think? Please don’t forget to share your thoughts with us in the comments section below.
