Polish game developer People Can Fly made a large-scale layoff just before Christmas. The studio, known for games like Bulletstorm and Outriders, laid off more than 120 employees. Coming two weeks before Christmas, this news has had a big impact on the gaming community.

People Can Fly CEO Sebastian Wojciechowski attributed the layoffs to market conditions that exceeded the company’s forecasts and stated that they had to rethink their publishing strategy. The restructuring led to the cancellation of an unannounced game known internally as Project Victoria.

The studio was also forced to cut resources for another project called Project Bifrost. Support teams within the company were also affected. CEO Wojciechowski said in a statement that they had to adapt to the dynamic nature of the gaming industry.
