Philips Hue update brings smarter lights and voice assistant boost

Ana sayfa / News

The latest Philips Hue update has landed, quietly adding real features for users with or without the Bridge Pro. While version 5.54 is still Android-only for now, iOS users are expected to get the same rollout soon.

Bridge Pro owners get the biggest upgrades this time. With v5.54, motion-controlled lighting can now respond to real-world brightness. If a room is already well-lit, MotionAware zones can stay off. But once it’s dark, the system can kick in automatically.

This behavior is tied to light sensors already connected to your Hue setup. It’s a small change with big impact, especially for people who use Hue lighting to save energy or avoid glare at night.

Insta360 X4 Air debuts as the brand’s lightest 8K 360° camera, offering 100 minutes of runtime, dual CMOS sensors, and wide accessory support.

More visibility is coming to the app’s Room View feature. You can now view MotionAware zones directly from the same screen. It’s a subtle UI change, but one that cuts down on taps.

Accessories like the Smart Dimmer Switch now also show up here, making it easier to check what’s active in each room at a glance.

The Hue AI Assistant, first introduced in early 2025, now responds to spoken commands at least in English. This feature is live only in select countries, and Philips hasn’t confirmed which ones.

Still, it’s a meaningful step forward. As voice control becomes more common, tying it into smart lighting makes sense.

There’s one more win: users with a Hue Secure camera now get 24 hours of video recording for free. No subscription needed. It’s a welcome shift in a market where most cloud-based cameras paywall basic features.

This Philips Hue update also adds support for multiple bridge setups through both Google Home and Samsung SmartThings. So if your house has more than one Hue hub, you’re no longer stuck switching manually.

With v5.54, Philips isn’t trying to wow it’s trying to refine. And that works. From brighter automation to better Room Views, this patch shows smart lighting doesn’t need flash to feel smarter.
