PlayStation 6 specs are starting to emerge

Ana sayfa / News

Years have passed since the PlayStation 5’s release, and all eyes are already on Sony’s next big thing: the PlayStation 6. Gamers are most curious about how powerful the new console will be. Digital Foundry, one of the industry’s most respected technology analysis platforms, has addressed this issue in its weekly publications, making significant claims.

According to experts, the 16GB of RAM in the PS5 and PS5 Pro is now pushing the limits for the artificial intelligence and advanced ray tracing technologies that next-generation games will bring. Therefore, it’s predicted that 24GB will be the optimal amount of RAM for the PlayStation 6.

There are two main reasons behind this increase:

However, there’s a significant obstacle to this increase: DRAM costs. RAM chips, which haven’t decreased in price in recent years, will be one of the most critical factors determining the console’s final price.

While Sony’s path seems more predictable, Microsoft’s cards may be reshuffled. According to Digital Foundry, Microsoft may shift its focus to the pre-built PC market rather than directly competing with the PlayStation 6 with the next-generation Xbox.

Under this scenario, Microsoft could break standard console pricing and release a premium PC featuring a larger APU and more RAM than the PS6. While such projects have been shelved in the past due to high costs, the growing price gap between consoles and expensive PCs could create a new market opportunity for such a product.

Sony is expected to announce the PlayStation 6 within the next few years. However, the real question is whether the portable PlayStation console, which is said to be even more powerful than the Xbox Series S, will be released alongside the main console.
