Just as the tech world turned its attention to the newly unveiled Samsung Galaxy S26 series, a competitor has made a notably sharp move. While Samsung markets its new Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra as revolutionary “AI Phones,” rival brand Poco was quick to respond. In a witty social media post, Poco teases Samsung by playfully mocking its AI-focused marketing strategy.
Poco Teases Samsung with a “Smarter Phone” Campaign
The post, shared by Poco’s official account in India, came with a clear message for consumers: “Smart minds will wait for the smarter phone. They don’t rush. So shouldn’t you.” The accompanying graphic further emphasized this by stating, “People with high IQ will wait for the neXt thing.” This clever play on words has ignited speculation across the tech community.
Although Poco did not explicitly name the upcoming device, inside sources and recent leaks strongly suggest the message is pointing towards the much-anticipated Poco X8 Pro and Poco X8 Pro Max. Furthermore, given the frequency of leaks, the official launch of these new smartphones is expected within the next few weeks.
What to Expect from the Poco X8 Series?
Industry rumors suggest that the Poco X8 series may not feature a completely new design. Instead, the devices are expected to be rebranded versions of existing models. Specifically, the Poco X8 Pro is anticipated to be based on the Redmi Turbo 5, while the Poco X8 Pro Max will likely be a version of the Redmi Turbo 5 Max.
However, a key difference between the Poco and Redmi versions is expected to be the battery capacity. Leaked specifications indicate that the Poco X8 Pro will come with a 6,500 mAh battery, a slight downgrade from the 7,560 mAh in its Redmi counterpart. Meanwhile, the top-tier Poco X8 Pro Max is rumored to feature a massive 8,500 mAh battery, compared to the 9,000 mAh powerhouse in the Redmi Turbo 5 Max. This focus on battery life appears to be Poco’s main counter-argument to Samsung’s AI features.
