Twitter changed its name with a decision made by Elon Musk over the weekend. Musk, who changed the platform’s logo to the letter X, also said that he would stop the company from being Twitter. However, the police did not allow the removal of the Twitter sign at the headquarters in the USA.
Police intervened during the removal of the Twitter sign
Efforts to remove the Twitter sign from Elon Musk’s headquarters in San Francisco have failed. The company, which wanted to remove the letters of the sign in the office in the morning, failed with the intervention of the police.
The removal of the Twitter brand is part of the rebranding efforts of the company’s new owner Elon Musk. Musk plans to change the company’s name to X and remove the iconic bird logo. The new X logo was recently projected onto the building.
However, this morning’s sign removal efforts were interrupted when police were called to the scene. Workers climbed to the top of the building and removed five letters from the vertical Twitter sign. Police intervened, however, and the word “er” remained on the sign.
Police officials said they received a report of an unauthorized street closure while the sign was being removed. However, the San Francisco Police Department said that no crime had been committed and that the police had nothing to do with the removal of the sign.
After the police left the scene, the removal of the sign did not continue. Currently, only the letters “er” remain on the office building. However, it is unclear when the company will continue to remove the sign as part of its rebranding.
