Rumors about the Nintendo Switch 2 reignited this summer. Japanese analyst Hideki Yasuda revealed a new leak regarding the release date of the upcoming console. It appears that Nintendo plans to launch its new console very soon. Here are the potential price and release date details…
Nintendo Switch 2 Could Launch in the First Half of 2025
Yasuda claims that the Switch 2 model will be released in the first half of 2025. After analyzing Nintendo’s latest fiscal quarter results, the Japanese analyst predicts that due to a significant drop in Switch sales, the company might announce the new console sometime after March 2025, but before June 2025.
Based on this information, it is estimated that Nintendo plans to launch the Switch 2 between April and June. Additionally, it’s worth noting that while the console might be announced by March 2025, its price may be finalized closer to the launch date. Considering the launch prices of the original Switch in 2017 at 329 euros and the Switch OLED in 2021 at 349 euros, the Switch 2’s price is expected to fall within this range.
However, there have been instances where Nintendo’s attempt to implement a high price strategy was not successful. For example, the 3DS initially launched at 250 euros, but due to underwhelming sales, its price had to be slashed to 170 euros within just a few months. Therefore, the pricing strategy for the Switch 2 will be crucial for Nintendo.
According to the Japanese analyst, the price of the Nintendo Switch 2 will be under $499. What do you think? Will the price and release date of the new handheld console meet expectations? Could Nintendo once again revolutionize the gaming world with its new console? Don’t forget to share your thoughts in the comments below.
