Currently, this console is being sold on eBay for prices ranging from $3,000 to $5,000. That’s a fraction of the original price.
The retro design that came with the special edition was especially appealing to fans from the early days of PlayStation. Unfortunately, it looks like you’ll have to shell out thousands of dollars to get your hands on this console.
In addition, the standard PS5 Pro version is similarly being resold by scalpers despite its $699 price. Sales prices for this model on eBay are hovering around 1,000 dollars.
Meanwhile, Sony has given fans another chance. The 30th anniversary retro-designed version of the PlayStation 5 Slim will go on pre-sale on October 10. If fans act fast this time, they can own a PS5 without falling into the trap of scalpers.
