PS5 Pro Isn’t Even as Good as a Mid-Range Graphics Card!

Ana sayfa / News

The PS5 Pro, which was revealed in a 10-minute promotional video by Sony in recent weeks, has been the subject of much discussion due to its hardware features, price, and the lack of games that fully showcase its power. So, which graphics card is comparable to Sony’s new-generation console? Here are the performance figures…

The expected specs of the PlayStation 5 Pro suggest that it may fall short of the performance of the AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT, a desktop GPU. According to reliable sources in the gaming industry, the PS5 Pro’s GPU might underperform compared to the mid-to-upper-tier RX 7800 XT.

Some key features mentioned in Sony’s official statement include 67% more Compute Units (CUs) and up to a 45% increase in game processing speed compared to the original PS5.

According to a chart shared by Quasarzone, the PS5 Pro is expected to have 60 Compute Units, the same as the RX 7800 XT. However, lower boost clock speeds and limited memory features may impact the console’s performance.

Games in the PS5 Pro trailer analyzed: Here are the results

The games in the PS5 Pro promotional video were analyzed. PS5 Pro has significantly increased the visual quality of the games.

Based on the data, the PS5 Pro is expected to have a processing power of 33.5 TFLOPS. This figure places it above the RX 7700 XT but below the RX 7800 XT.

One of the main reasons for the potentially lower performance could be power consumption limitations. As a compact console, the PlayStation 5 Pro needs to maintain power efficiency and prevent overheating, which may lead to stricter power limits and affect the GPU’s clock speeds, ultimately influencing gaming performance.

While PS5 Pro’s GPU performance may disappoint players expecting a significant leap, it’s important to note that as a system optimized for console gaming, the PS5 Pro could outperform a similarly specced PC in gaming performance.
