Qualcomm has made official statements on Chinese social media platform Weibo that it will announce a new flagship processor. Based on recent leaks and rumors, we expect the chipmaker to unveil the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 coming “soon”
In the latest post, Qualcomm said it will focus on AI capabilities in its next generation chipsets. This is in line with earlier claims about the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 and its expected features.
Last month, Snapdragon 8s Gen 3’s performance report was leaked. According to that, it is expected to feature one high-performance Cortex-X4 core running at 3.01GHz, four Cortex-A720 cores at 2.61GHz for additional power and three efficient Cortex-A520 cores at 1.84GHz.
This suggests that the mobile chipset will feature an octa-core design. Leaks also say it will be equipped with an Adreno 735 GPU.
This processor is likely to form a new family with Qualcomm’s most powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 model. However, it may power budget-friendly flagship models in order not to block the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
Qualcomm has accelerated its work for its premium mobile platform, which focuses on artificial intelligence and has a new eight-core design. The date of the launch event, where all the details will be announced, was not clearly given.
