Leaks about Samsung’s Galaxy S25 family, set to launch in 2025, continue to surface, particularly regarding the processor the smartphones will use. While there has been significant uncertainty, credible industry sources are starting to shed light on the matter, claiming that the South Korean manufacturer has made a decision.
Which Processor Will the Galaxy S25 Series Use?
Renowned leaker Ice Universe has stated that the Galaxy S25 series will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite (Snapdragon 8 Gen 4), which was recently introduced globally. This speculation is further supported by the appearance of Samsung MX president TM Roh during the Snapdragon 8 Elite announcement, where he delivered a speech.
As we know, Samsung opted for the Exynos 2400 processor in the Galaxy S24 and S24+ models for all countries outside Canada, China, and the United States. In contrast, the Galaxy S24 Ultra utilized the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 For Galaxy worldwide.
However, significant changes are expected this year. Due to issues such as production difficulties and an inability to meet demand, the South Korean manufacturer will likely rely less on its Exynos 2500 chip for the S25 series. Instead, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite, which was used minimally last year, will take center stage.
The Snapdragon 8 Elite stands out with impressive features, offering up to a 40% performance increase and 40% energy efficiency compared to its predecessor. Additionally, it is noted for reducing energy consumption by 27%.
