Realme has unveiled a new smartphone model ahead of the 828 Fan Festival. The company announced that this model, called the Chill Fan Phone, features a built-in AC active cooling system, a first for a smartphone. This system reduces the phone’s core temperature by up to 6°C.
Realme Designs an Air-Conditioned Smartphone
The phone’s promotional video shows a small vent on the side. The airflow from this vent is shown to be powerful enough to extinguish a candle and propel a floating plastic toy forward. The company states that this cooling system can be turned off at any time.
The phone’s design shares familiar lines. Gaming phones with active cooling have been released before, but this Realme model stands out for its direct AC (air conditioning) operation.
In addition to the Chill Fan Phone, Realme also introduced another model with a massive 15,000 mAh battery. This phone is said to offer 50 hours of video playback on a single charge.
The Realme 828 Fan Festival kicks off on August 27th at 11:00 AM China time. The event is expected to showcase the technical details and performance of both phones in greater detail. Release dates and pricing will also be announced.
