Realme has accelerated its work on smartphone models that can charge faster than any other device on the market. The company, which previously announced the Realme GT 3, which supports 240W fast charging, is now working on models with 150W + 5200 mAh and 240W + 4600 mAh batteries.
240W and 150W fast charging supported smartphone models from Realme
According to the latest leaks from China, Realme is developing a smartphone with 150W fast charging that will be powered by a 5200mAh battery. This will allegedly allow the phone to be fully charged in around 20 minutes.
Realme already offers phones with 150W charging. However, since the battery capacity is much smaller, users cannot benefit much from ultra-fast charging speed.
The leak from China also revealed that Realme is working on a model that supports 240W fast charging. This fast charging capacity can charge a 4600mAh battery from 0 to 100% in just 9 minutes.
Earlier this year, Realme launched the GT Neo 5, powered by a 4600mAh battery with 240W charging support. However, the announcement of a new model with a larger battery may make the phone last longer in terms of usage time.
Industry experts say charging speeds of 150W and 240W are possible thanks to advanced lithium-ion battery technology and charging algorithms. But there are also concerns that ultra-fast charging could accelerate battery degradation over the lifetime of the phone.
