Record charging speed from Tesla! New cabins are coming

Ana sayfa / News

Tesla unveiled its record-breaking V4 Supercharger cabins for charging speed. Scheduled for 2025, the next generation of cabins will offer electric vehicle owners and Tesla Semi truck drivers an unprecedented charging speed. Here are the details…

In fact, Tesla’s V4 Superchargers, launched in 2023, were capable of reaching a charging speed of 350 kW. However, the speed increase compared to the V3 chargers was not considered too high to be exaggerated. With the new V4 cabinets, it will now be possible to reach record speeds. The new cabinets will support electric vehicle architectures that can charge at 400V to 1000V.

Tesla said in its X post that Model S, Model 3, Model X and Model Y “can enjoy 250 kW charging rates in the V3 cabin and charge up to 200 miles (320 km) in 15 minutes.” One of the biggest features of the new V4 cabin is that it can support charging rates of up to 500 kW. That means extraordinary speeds for Tesla vehicles like the Model S, Model 3, Model X and Model Y. Even more important is the 1.2 MW charging speed planned for the Tesla Semi. So much so that even these trucks are expected to be able to charge like a normal car.

Free Supercharging for Tesla Model Y!

While Tesla is working on the new Model Y Juniper, it offers free charging for the Model Y already on sale.

Considering that the first Superchargers offered 90 kW in 2012, going up to 1.2 MW shows how far Tesla has come in charging technology in the last decade. Meanwhile, the V4 Supercharger cabinets will not only accommodate Tesla vehicles, but also other electric vehicles with different high-voltage architectures.

As Tesla opens its doors to more electric vehicle manufacturers, new vehicles joining the Supercharger network in the coming period will also be able to benefit from these speeds. Although it has not yet been announced where the installations of the new cabins will start, Tesla is expected to rapidly expand this service first in the US and Europe.
