Rockstar Games’ legendary game Red Dead Redemption is finally coming to the PC platform after a 14-year wait. This version, set to release on October 29th, was compared to the PlayStation 4 version running on PlayStation 5 through backward compatibility mode. However, this comparison video disappointed many players.
Is Red Dead Redemption worth the price?
The video, prepared by Cycu1, who is famous for comparison videos on YouTube, shows how the PC version’s lighting, shading, and draw distance compare to the PS5 (with PS4 backward compatibility mode). However, these improvements don’t seem to make a significant difference in the game’s visual quality.
The PC version comes with exclusive features such as Ultra Wide and Super Ultra Wide screen support, HDR10 support, keyboard and mouse controls, NVIDIA DLSS 3.7 Super Resolution and Frame Generation support, as well as AMD FSR 3.0 support. Additionally, the Undead Nightmare expansion pack is also included in this version.
Although the PC version is technically superior and promises to best capture the atmosphere of the game, it does not offer a dramatic difference compared to the PS4 version. This might disappoint some players. However, considering the opportunities the PC platform provides to modders, it’s expected that community-created mods will make the game more impressive.
