Xiaomi is preparing for an unexpected change in display technology in the new Redmi K90 series. According to the leaked information, the company is working on a 6.59-inch, flat and high-resolution LTPS panel. It is stated that this panel, which is expected to offer a resolution of approximately 2K, will attract attention especially in terms of pixel density and energy efficiency.
The new Redmi K90 series will offer a significant innovation
The new screen has a smaller size compared to the 6.67-inch AMOLED panel used in the previous series, the Redmi K80. However, this reduction does not mean that the device will compromise on image quality. On the contrary, it is stated that the new panel is produced with advanced materials, will offer clearer images and will provide lower power consumption.
In addition, the screen’s frame ratio, flat form factor and smoothed corner transitions aim to capture a modern line in the device’s general design concept. It is not yet clear which model of the Redmi K90 series this new panel will be included in.
However, the timing of the leak directs the focus directly to the basic Redmi K90 model. Xiaomi’s previous collaborations with TCL CSOT give the impression of a similar technical partnership in this new panel.
