Redmi Note 15 Arrives With Bigger Battery and Snapdragon Upgrade

Xiaomi has quietly dropped the Redmi Note 15 in China, skipping teasers and surprise announcements. Despite the low entry price of just CNY 999, around $139, this model packs hardware usually reserved for pricier phones, including a high brightness OLED display, a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chip, and a large battery.

Redmi Note 15 display stretches brighter and sharper

The Note 15 grows slightly taller than last year’s model, now measuring 164 by 75.42 by 73.5 mm, while trimming its weight down to 178 grams. The added space makes room for a 6.77 inch OLED panel with a 1080p resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate, and an eye searing peak brightness of 3,200 nits.

Note 15 battery capacity hits new highs

Xiaomi boosted the battery from 5,110 mAh in the Redmi Note 14 to 5,800 mAh in this release. The wired charging remains at 45 W, but the extra capacity means longer run time even without faster charging tech.

Note 15 chipset switches to Qualcomm Snapdragon

One of the biggest shifts is under the hood. The Redmi Note 14 used MediaTek’s Dimensity 7025 Ultra. The Redmi Note 15 switches to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, which benchmarks suggest is about 18 percent faster. This should translate to smoother multitasking and gaming at budget friendly prices.

Camera hardware takes a mixed turn

The rear camera setup has also been updated, now using the Light Hunter 400 sensor with a 50 MP main shooter. While the sensor swap could be seen as a step down from the Sony LYT 600 in the previous model, Xiaomi claims improved tuning should balance out performance.

Note 15 colours, storage, and pricing

Buyers can choose from three colours, Azure Blue, Midnight Dark, and Starlight White, all with matching housings and curved displays. The storage and RAM configurations roll out at the following price points:

International details remain under wraps, but leaks suggest it will appear globally as the Note 15 5G.

The Redmi Note 15 may not be the flashiest phone, yet its mix of high brightness display, bigger battery, and Snapdragon chipset makes it one of the strongest value plays in Xiaomi’s lineup this year.
