In the smartphone world, the balance between performance and portability has recently been upset. As devices have become more powerful, screen sizes have also grown. In this context, Redmi was rumored to be developing a compact flagship recently. However, the Chinese brand may have canceled this phone.
Redmi has canceled plans for a compact flagship
According to recent reports, Redmi was considering launching a compact flagship as part of its upcoming K80 series. The device, codenamed “Project Klein”, was rumored to be powered by a Dimensity 9400 or Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. Specifications such as a 6.3-inch display and 6000mAh were also leaked.
However, the latest information coming out of China has revealed that Redmi has given up on launching this compact flagship. The company has reportedly shelved plans for a “small screen” Redmi phone. This is disappointing given the dearth of compact high-end devices.
The brand is expected to launch the Redmi K80 and high-end K80 Pro models soon. The features of these phones include Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, 6000-6500mAh battery, 120Hz display and 50 Megapixel camera.
When we look at the smartphone’s certification, we see that the device will be powered by 90W fast charging. Unfortunately, there is no other information available. The device is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. This chipset, which also supports Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro models, makes a name for itself with its power
