Research: ‘Smartphone buyers don’t care about artificial intelligence!’

Ana sayfa / News

Although artificial intelligence and AI models have become an integral part of our lives, it appears that this technology does not play a significant role in smartphone purchasing decisions. A recent study has produced interesting results, potentially influencing the decisions of tech giants like Apple and Samsung in the future.

AI not prioritized when buying smartphones!

The AI features that Apple highlighted during its recent iPhone launch event did not receive the expected attention from consumers. Experts suggest that the fascination with AI has passed, and consumers now expect more tangible benefits.

According to Lars Erik Holmquist, Professor of Design and Innovation at Nottingham Trent University, the lack of interest in the AI features of Apple’s new iPhone series has contributed to the company’s market value dropping by over $100 billion.

Interestingly, the most attention-grabbing feature of Apple’s presentation was not AI but the new camera shutter button added to the side of the phone. Even editors at Wired Gadget Lab, one of the leading tech publications, expressed that they didn’t find enough reason to switch to the new iPhone models.

According to Forbes, the AI industry is currently facing a $500 billion (17.1 trillion TL) gap in hardware and software investments. The projected $100 billion AI revenue for 2024 is far from closing this gap, and the disparity may widen in the future.

After the failure of the Metaverse, tech companies are trying to use AI as a new marketing tool to boost sales. However, how much interest consumers will show in AI features in smartphones remains uncertain for now…

What do you think about this? Do you believe that next-gen AI features will influence consumers’ choices? Share your thoughts in the comments.
