We have seen many Resident Evil games coming to the mobile platform until today. The most recent example is Resident Evil 4. Both the old and the new came to mobile. Now it is claimed that Resident Evil 2 mobile port will come.
Images allegedly belonging to Resident Evil 2 mobile port leaked
The visuals show some graphical downgrades. This is necessary for the mobile port. So at some point there seems to be signs that a port for Resident Evil 2 mobile is being developed.
The information was published on Reddit. Concept images have surfaced via a LinkedIn profile. The information is not conclusive, but some community members believe that these are concept images of the Resident Evil 2 mobile port. Others suggest that this project is a collaboration concept for Life-After from NetEase.
Whatever the case, the project is still ongoing according to LinkedIn, but it probably wouldn’t be surprising if it was announced canceled. Still, there’s no official word yet, so we’re still waiting for news from Capcom to confirm if another Resident Evil mobile port is in the works.
Capcom is rumored to have several Resident Evil games in the works. Therefore, there is an expectation that a remake like Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 9 will be introduced.
Currently, Resident Evil 4 Remake is the latest game in the series. This remake was also a success for Capcom and a new version was released this month. Resident Evil 2 has also been in the news lately as it was included in the Xbox Game Pass subscription service last month.
Speaking of Xbox Game Pass, this month we also saw the addition of the Resident Evil 3 remake to Xbox Game Pass. So even if you can’t play Resident Evil 2 directly on mobile right now, you can still check out Xbox Game Pass.
