What does Rivian R3 / R3X offer?
The R3 is presented as an electric option for the compact crossover segment. In terms of powertrain, it follows the R2 with a single, twin or three-motor configuration. This means it will appeal to a wide range of customers, from efficiency to performance enthusiasts.
Rivian has also introduced the R3X model for the off-road experience. With a standard three-motor powertrain, it promises a sportier experience with larger wheels and increased ground clearance.
Rivian has announced that the new R3 models will use the Tesla charging standard (NCSS). This will give it access to a wide fast charging network.
Pricing for the R3 has not been announced, but it is expected to be below the R2’s price of $45,000. Delivery of the R2 is scheduled to start in 2026, which suggests that the R3 could arrive later.
