At the ‘We, Robot’ event, one of Tesla’s biggest events, Robotaxi and Robovan electric vehicles, as well as new Optimus robots were exhibited by the company. Optimus robots, which joined the crowd on foot after the introduction of Tesla Robovan, seem to be able to meet daily needs for people. Here are the details…
Tesla Optimus robots are light and fast
The robots, which gained detail with the statements of Tesla CEO Elon Musk, can fulfil daily tasks and were stated as ‘the best product that humanity can produce’ according to Musk. As seen in the videos shared, Optimus robots can bartend, take care of babies and pets, and even play rock, paper, scissors.
The project, first announced by Musk in 2021, was not given much importance and only stood out with its dancing feature. The robot, which was later shown to walk in 2022, was announced again at today’s event and this time it seems to be on sale.
The robot, which is stated to be able to perform a wide variety of tasks, was emphasised with the words ‘Optimus will walk among you and will be able to do everything’. Although many tasks were listed, Tesla Optimus was only seen dancing and playing rock, paper, scissors, except for basic actions such as waving, holding glasses, and distributing small gift bags.
Many details about the robot are presented in the video. The robot, whose long-term price may be between 20 thousand and 30 thousand dollars, is expected to enter mass production in the coming months and is expected to be commercially launched at the end of 2024.
