ROG G1000 brings AniMe Matrix vibes to the desktop

Ana sayfa / Computers

Asus isn’t holding back ahead of CES 2026. Its latest tease? The ROG G1000 a mysterious gaming tower that revives the spirit of the AniMe Matrix, but this time, for desktop hardware.

Over the years, Asus has peppered its Zephyrus laptops with the now-iconic AniMe Matrix: a customizable LED display that added flair without sacrificing function. The ROG G1000 looks set to carry that legacy forward, with a new version dubbed AniMe Holo. Based on early footage, it appears to rely on a persistence of vision trick to simulate animated graphics across part of the chassis.

This isn’t just lights for the sake of lights. It’s a visual identity a signature Asus wants to evolve.

RGB OLED panel promises clearer text at 240Hz

LG Display’s 240Hz RGB OLED panel may finally solve OLED’s text clarity issues, combining high refresh with razor-sharp rendering.

AniMe Holo isn’t just a rehash. While the Matrix displays on older laptops used a dot matrix-style LED setup, this one seems to produce smoother, more fluid visuals possibly thanks to rotating elements or a POV (persistence of vision) display method.

There are no full specs yet. Asus is keeping details close, leaving fans to speculate on whether this is a standalone case or a fully built rig. But if the G700 is any hint, the ROG G1000 will likely arrive as a prebuilt powerhouse.

Asus knows its crowd. Gamers want both performance and presence. AniMe Holo offers the second without compromising the first. It’s customizable, visual, and unapologetically extra exactly what a high-end gaming tower should lean into.

Here’s what we know so far:

While specs are still under wraps, one thing’s clear: Asus isn’t just pushing frames, it’s pushing personality. The ROG G1000 blends nostalgia with a next-gen edge, and AniMe Holo might just be the feature that brings desktops back into the spotlight for style-driven gamers.
